Portfolio Reporting Analyst 

 

Company Info: Middle market private equity fund based in New York

 

Responsibilities:

 

Portfolio reporting system development, implementation and maintenance

  • Develop and implement a standardized method to collect relevant portfolio data across all investments
  • Collaborate with investment team to identify and define relevant data metrics to track
  • Lead and oversee best practices to ensure accurate data is captured and stored
  • Design / build framework to more efficiently meet due diligence data requests for portfolio data
  • Improve weekly reporting package. Develop technology driven and automated reports that replace
  • manual reports

 

Investor relations support

  • Provide support and work closely with the IR team who interacts with existing and prospective fund investors (LPs)
  • Compile portfolio data needed to answer investor questions about the performance of the fund and specific investments
  • Draft, maintain and oversee presentations and data used for investor communication (i.e. annual investor meetings, new pitches, portfolio performance updates)

 

Fund performance & monitoring

  • Develop and oversee systems to streamline fund performance tracking
  • Work closely with finance team on quarterly and annual fund valuations
  • Monitor the gross and net performance of the fund
  • Prepare benchmark analyses vs. competitor funds and public market equivalents
  • Track and monitor covenant compliance across the portfolio

 

Qualifications:

 

  • BS in Finance, Economics, or a related major
  • 3-5 years relevant professional experience
  • Experience in the transactions services group at a Public Accounting firm; OR Investment Banking experience; OR experience in a similar function at an asset management firm.
  • Self-starter with an ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task across numerous projects with short deadlines
  • Experience working with different teams while maintaining appropriate project prioritization
  • Positives, but not requirements:
  • Understanding of alternative investments: private debt, mezzanine/and or direct lending
  • Experience with portfolio monitoring software: ilevel, Clear Momentum, Baxon
  • Experience with fund accounting software: Investran, eFront, PEO
